I am curious what types of business you all manage with outright. I am a freelance web designer so I manage everything here and on freshbooks.

How have you found that outright helps you the most- and are there any tips or tricks you can offer that you have found to make things easier to manage and update? How long have you been using freshbooks?

I run an Auto Transport business. So far Outright is helping keep me more organized and in one place instead of a dozen different ones. I've only been using it since the beginning of the year but so far so good.

I am a freelance makeup artist and hairstylist catering primarily to the bridal industry. Interesting story how I learned of Outright, I purchased my fiance a Barnes and Noble Nook for Christmas and he somehow read about the program while playing with his new toy. LOL!

I was desperately looking for a program that would help calculate and document mileage (I travel a lot) and the added tax feature and overall import options work wonderfully for my business. I've only been using it for a month or so but so far I am happy with its capabilities and look forward to using it going into the future.

I am a Fiber Artist selling hand dyed yarn and fiber as well as hand spun yarn and finished items. I have online shops and sell at Fiber Festivals.

I do web development and podcast hosting and so far have been so happy with Outright. Last year doing my taxes took 15 hours, and this year it took less than an hour thanks to staying on top of everything with Outright. I tell any of my small biz friends about it whenever I can, and look forward to developing products to integrate with it in the future!

Like you, I am a freelance web designer (owner of Berries and Cream Blog Design).

I found Outright just in the nick of time - tax time, that is. It made creating year end reports so much easier and FASTER! I am absolutely in love with the reporting and tax features.

So glad I found Outright, and I've posted about the service at my business blog.

I'm a crafter -- I make and sell custom tutus for princesses of all ages. :) Photographers are my biggest customers, they are great for props. Also, they are used for weddings (flower girls) a lot. I prefer 1040c based books and the portability of the bootstrap platform. It also makes it possible to be high production, high care and sole proprietor at the same time.
I have set up an export table (MS Access) in my shop management invoicing program that exports cvs that imports into outright so everything is one time only, also save yourself a bunch of time and space if your just starting now and set up a digital file cabinet for all your source and use documents and you can save them to CD, DVD and storage drive each week, month and year and avoid the "7 year" tons of paper retention, storage and destruction headaches. Get a sheet fed scanner.

Sewing service - soft furnishings, dressmaking, artist bears, crafts, anything that requires sewing really. Custom orders very welcome.

Outright is good for me to see recurrent clients, where I spend the most, trends in requests, seasonal fluctuations and of course the all important profit/loss thingy. I used to do all this on excel with programmes written by my husband and got so tied up with it - I'm not a techno wizard - In Ourtright I just enter my purchases and payments from clients and can see everything from different angles in a single click. It should make me more efficient as I will be able to plan my time to suit the trends and requests.

Not much good as a tax reporting tool as I'm in the UK but I'm sure my accountant can take the info and transfer it for me. Most of the categories are the same.

Since using the google map to work out mileage - I've discovered that I have been under estimating many of my trips.

I sell dinnerware & collectibles. Wish I had a little more training in how to use this program. Everyone here seems to have lots of program experience!! Set Designer & Creative Director... my studio designs scenery and graphics for shows, events, high-end weddings, retail, and pop-ups stores. We also provide support services for other studios for drafting and 3D rendering.

I found Outright through Freshbooks. I was looking for something that was less confusing than Quickbooks, which my accountant wanted me to use. I trialed QB online & Outright at the same time and found that the more I used both programs the more I loved Outright and hated QB. I'm here to stay, and looking forward to all the improvements you are making.

That's a really good question! I started out as a freelance copywriter and web content writer, found out I loved blogging, and then slowly transitioned into social media consulting. So what I am? I am a CPA-primarily I do tax compliance work and accounting support, primarily for small businesses. I discovered Outright early last year and have recommended it to several clients. I am a big believer that this is how bookkeeping should be done.

The Louisville Poker Society is a non-profit private social club for poker enthusiast in Louisville, KY.

I previously used Microsoft Accounting (free) for keeping track of membership dues, payments and expenses. However, they have stopped distribution and support for that product. In search for a free replacement, I found Outright and have just started using it.

As we have total receipts under $5,000, our tax requirements are practically non-existent, so I really think the simplicity of Outright will be much for suitable for our purpose and I look forward to less complicated bookkeeping.

I am a crafter! I sell my handmade items onlines. I love outright. It has simplified one of the more complicated elements of my business. I actually look forward to doing my bookkeeping. I love watching that green bar get bigger each month. I also find that it holds me more accountable for the money I spend on supplies.

I sell spinning wheels and spinning equipment -- the stuff you use to make yarn. If I remember correctly, I heard about Outright through Artfire's Inside Handmade podcast, or it could have been CNET or Fastcompany tweets...

I'm fairly new and I'm liking Outright so far. I'm still battling tracking my sales and use tax vs. my fed taxes. Some of my sales are local including tax, some are out of state. Some (use) expenses are with tax, some without. I'll have to post a question when I can work out a description. :)

The clear layout does make it easier to pick the tax items out by hand already.

I'm a finance coach. I help people deal with out of control debt, get out of debt, get on a spending plan, and create a Life Plan. I'll help anyone in any stage of that process. It's amazing how many opportunities there are for people to reduce their spending just in the area of insurance just by getting a little education on the right types and amounts. By the way, I don't sell any insurance or investment products, I just help educate people on those products.

I sell on eBay and other online venues under two names. I hand craft home decor items such as celing lights, ceiling fans, recessed can light rings, window valances, roman shades and more. I started about 8 years ago selling hand cut china mosaic pieces for crafting as well as night lights cut from vintage china and saucer picture frames.

I just started using Outright. I find it very useful. Before I used Microsoft Office Account. For new clients I might use Outright and continue to use MOA for existing clients.

We do taxes, bookkeeping and college planning.

I'm a real estate broker and I just set up an account and I really like it so far. I've tried Quicken and Quickbooks but they just werent simple enough for me. I just wanted a simple income in, expense out tracker and Outright looks like it will work for me. I'm going to set up another account as I have a brokerage with agents that I run separately(S-Corp) from my own sales(sole proprietor). I also sent a link to my agents so they can evaluate it for their own businesses.

I'm a freelance translator - I translate legal, business and financial documents from Spanish into English. Recently started the business. I'm using Outright in conjunction with Freshbooks and Shoeboxed, and I love the setup! I'm still a bit confused about paying quarterly estimated taxes, though. I'm currently a sole proprietor filing married/jointly, and my wife's withholdings from her job seem to increase or reduce our end-of-year tax liability, and thus, the amount of my quarter payments, so I'm still trying to figure out the best way to determine what to pay. I am going to be consulting with a tax preparer/CPA, but any tips?

I take care of the day books for small businesses. I find outright to be a great way to communicate my work to my clients by using this as a mirror to the quickbooks and peachtree files. They love the online access and the fast graphs!
